The Guatemala men’s national football team, governed by the National Football Federation of Guatemala and part of CONCACAF, is known as Los Chapines. Guatemala won the CONCACAF Championship in 1967 and were runners-up in 1965 and 1969, took the UNCAF Nations Cup in 2001, and reached the semi-finals of the 2025 Gold Cup, their best showing of the modern era. Carlos Ruiz, the country’s record cap-holder and record scorer, together with Juan Carlos Plata, Guillermo Ramírez and Óscar Santis, are the names most tied to the shirt. Guatemala are led by Luis Fernando Tena, in charge since December 2021.
