The COPA FC Internazionale 1997-98 Retro Football Shirt reproduces the black and blue striped home kit Inter Milan wore during their UEFA Cup-winning 1997-98 season, complete with the Pirelli sponsor logo, a ringer collar, and the Inter crest with its gold star for ten Serie A titles. It is made in Europe and arrives packed in a branded gift box, produced under official license.

Inter’s 1997-98 UEFA Cup Triumph

Inter Milan wore this shirt during a season that ended with the club lifting the UEFA Cup, beating fellow Italian side Lazio 3-0 in the final in Paris, with a young Ronaldo scoring one of the goals in his first season at the club. In Serie A that year Inter finished as runners-up to Juventus in one of the more contentious title races of the decade, in a season remembered partly for a disputed penalty incident involving Ronaldo late in the campaign.

The squad captained by Giuseppe Bergomi in what was his final season also featured Javier Zanetti, Paul Ince, Aron Winter, and a strike partnership built around Ronaldo, who scored 34 goals in all competitions that year and was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 1997 and 1998. Pirelli, the Milan-based tyre manufacturer, sponsored the club throughout this period, and its logo remains one of the most recognizable features of Inter’s kits from the 1990s.

Product Details

This shirt reproduces Inter’s classic black and blue vertical stripes with a white-trimmed collar and cuffs, the embroidered club crest with its gold championship star on the chest, and the Pirelli wordmark across the front exactly as worn during the 1997-98 season. The original shirt was manufactured by Umbro, the England-based sportswear brand that supplied Inter’s kits through the mid-to-late 1990s before Nike took over the following decade. Like the rest of the COPA Football retro range, this reproduction is cut to a relaxed, classic fit rather than the closer cut of a modern replica jersey, so shoppers used to current match kits should expect more room through the body and sleeves. It is available in sizes L and XL.

Care Instructions

Wash this shirt in cold water, turned inside out, and hang or lay it flat to dry rather than using a tumble dryer. This protects the printed Pirelli logo and the embroidered crest. Avoid ironing directly over either.
