Chicago Stars FC

Chicago Stars FC were founded in 2006 and began playing in 2009 as the Chicago Red Stars, a founding member of Women Professional Soccer. After WPS folded the club played in the WPSL and WPSL Elite, winning the 2012 National Women Cup, then became a founding member of the NWSL in 2013. The Red Stars name was retired in October 2024 and the club became Chicago Stars Football Club. The new crest carries a single red star in two shades of blue with a curved marquee shape that nods to the city theatres. The Stars were NWSL Championship runners-up in 2019 and 2021 and held the longest active playoff streak in league history from 2015 to 2022. From the 2026 season they play at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium in Evanston, capacity 12,023, having previously been based at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview.
